Join Lizet for this month's 1- hour portrait drawing session with model Zarima, where you&rsquo;ll learn how to build a strong likeness by focusing on tone, proportion, and edge control. You&rsquo;ll begin by toning the paper and setting up a simple three value structure, then block in the head using big light and dark shapes. The session focuses on reading the forms clearly by squinting, keeping things simple before moving into features. You&rsquo;ll see how to develop the eyes, nose and mouth through planes and cast shadows, and how to use soft and sharp edges to create depth. Highlights are lifted with an eraser, darker accents are added gradually, and the hands are kept simple so the focus stays on the face.
