This should be a fun one! Join Lizet for this weeks 1 - hour mastercopy of Wright of Derby. Inspired by 'From the shadows', an exhibition currently on show at the National Gallery in London until the 10th of May.
Materials used: Pastel and willow charcoal on grey-toned paper. Light yellow soft pastel, sanguine soft pastel, and pitt pastel pencils; sanguine pastel pencil, van dyck brown pastel pencil and beige red pastel pencil. Lizet also used a hog brush for blending.

Join Lizet for a 1- hour mastercopy session inspired by Joseph Wright of Derby and the "From the Shadows exhibition" currently pn show at the National Gallery, London, on until 10 May. ( Link for show below) You&rsquo;ll work from a dramatic two figure scene, building the drawing step by step from simple shapes into refined detail. The focus is on creating a strong sense of light using contrast, lost edges and careful transitions to separate the figures and guide the eye. It&rsquo;s a great chance to explore how light can shape both form and atmosphere. We've added a couple of extra reference images model Merideth, from our library that may be useful as they have a similar sense of light.&nbsp;

High quality images, great lighting and tuition from a professional artist mean this is a great way to hone your skills. This session mimics the structure of a traditional life drawing class. You will see one or more photographs to draw or paint from. Tutor Lizet Dingemans will be doing an online demonstration next to the video and will be giving hints and tips in the live chat. Once you have registered you will be sent a link to a private web page where you will be able to access the live stream at the date and time of broadcast. You will also have access to the video for 30 days after the session, and will be able to download the photographs used in the session so you can continue to work in your own time.
