In this 1-hour animal drawing session, Lizet demonstrates a step-by-step horse head portrait, working from the rather magnificent Geoff, the horse! You'll start by blocking in the head with simple shapes and key landmarks before gradually building the features, with a focus on the underlying structure and anatomy.
The session explores how soft tonal transitions and carefully controlled edges create a convincing sense of form. Texture is suggested with subtle marks and eraser work rather than fully rendered, while selective detail keeps the eye and muzzle as the natural focal points.
