Join Luca for a 1- hour portrait drawing session with model Wei, focusing on a simple, mass based approach to building the head. You&rsquo;ll begin by placing the head on the page and setting the main proportions, finding key landmarks before working down the centre line to anchor the features. The drawing develops gradually through tone, using the paper as a mid value and layering darker and lighter areas to describe the form. There&rsquo;s a strong focus on edge control, knowing when to keep things soft or sharp, and using that to guide the eye. The composition is kept simple, often working into a vignette, helping you keep the portrait clear, balanced and readable from start to finish.

You will see one or more photographs to draw or paint from. Tutor Luca Indraccolo will be doing an online demonstration next to the video and will be giving hints and tips in the live chat.
