Join tutor Lizet Dingemans for a free one-hour portrait-drawing session with model Pigeon, where you will learn to build a strong likeness through structure, planes, and clear edge control. Working in graphite, you&rsquo;ll block in the head with straight, whole-arm lines, place the major landmarks with comparative measuring, and establish the key front, side, and down planes before moving into features. You&rsquo;ll learn when to blend softly for rounded forms, when to sharpen edges for overlaps, and how to use background values to enhance contrast around the eyes and nose while keeping hair and beard simple to focus attention on the face.

This session mimics the structure of a traditional life drawing class. You will see one or more photographs to draw or paint from. Tutor Lizet Dingemans will be doing an online demonstration next to the video and will be giving hints and tips in the live chat. Once you have registered you will be sent a link to a private web page where you will be able to access the live stream at the date and time of broadcast. You will also have access to the video for 30 days after the session, and will be able to download the photographs used in the session so you can continue to work in your own time.
