Noy: An online portrait drawing session

Luca Indraccolo

Join Luca for a graphic portrait demo focused on shape, gesture, and composition. He blocks in the figure, maps facial landmarks, and uses diagonals to drive the layout. Large graphite shapes set value, while paper holds lights and selective red accents. Edge control, cross-hatching, and dry-brush hair bring form to life. Finished with a red, white, and black watercolour wash. Materials used: HB, 2B, 9B graphite pencils on Stonehenge white paper 11 x 14 in. Mars plastic eraser, Faber-Castell pencil eraser, Tombow Mono Zero eraser. Cadmium red watercolour tube (Winsor & Newton), watercolour brush.
