Join Lizet for this week's figure drawing session with model Irina, setting the scene with masses of light and dark to place the figure in place. The focus is on edgework, especially using lost and found edges to guide the viewer through the drawing.

Lizet will begin by placing the pose with simple comparative measurements and a straight line envelope, using intersecting angles to establish rhythm and composition. From there, she blocks in clear masses of light and shadow to place the figure in space and draw the eye to the right areas of the drawing.
You&rsquo;ll look closely at edgework throughout the session, especially how lost and found edges can be used to guide the viewer&rsquo;s eye and keep the image readable without overworking it. Lizet will also demonstrate softening edges where the form turns, sharpening key overlaps, and adding darker accents sparingly,&nbsp; particularly around the hands, ribcage and face so the figure feels solid while the overall impression stays light and unified.
