David: An online portrait drawing session

Lizet Dingemans

For this week's 1-hour portrait session, Lizet is focusing on structural planes in this pastel drawing. When finishing, looking at crosshatching and how to emphasise the structure through that. Model David is posing. Materials used: Burned Sienna, Sanguine, or similar coloured brown pastel pencil for the shadows, and a white pastel pencil for the highlights. On brown toned paper. Optional: coloured pencil in the same brown colour, like for instance burned sienna or sanguine.
