Wei: An online figure drawing session

Lizet Dingemans

For this week’s 1-hour figure session, Lizet works from a pose by model Wei, focusing on mass drawing and pulling focus through value control, with an emphasis on bringing out the anatomy of the torso without overmodelling. Materials used: compressed charcoal and willow charcoal on white paper. A range of blending tools, including a hog brush, sponge blender, and blending stump. Optional: clutch graphite pencil for detail.
