Sowmya: An online portrait drawing session

Lizet Dingemans

Using willow charcoal with a dark pencil, such as a 6B graphite or black coloured pencil on white paper, she demonstrates how to shift between broad tonal shapes and precise linear work to bring the portrait to life.
