Sowmya: An online portrait drawing session

Lizet Dingemans draws a portrait of model Sowmya this week, exploring the balance between mass and line to create structure and atmosphere. Using willow charcoal with a dark pencil, such as a 6B graphite or black coloured pencil on white paper, she demonstrates how to shift between broad tonal shapes and precise linear work to bring the portrait to life.

You will also have access to the video for 30 days after the session, and will be able to download the photographs used in the session so you can continue to work in your own time.
