This is the fourth year we’ve sponsored a prize at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition, and we’re delighted to announce that this year’s Raw Umber Studios Prize has been awarded to Hillary Butterworth for her portrait Aimee.

Hillary’s painting stood out for its simplicity, quiet sensitivity and strong sense of presence.

The RP Annual Exhibition is on at Mall Galleries, London, until 17th May. You can view all the winners, including Aimee here:

It was also lovely to catch up with some Raw umber regulars, both tutors and students who were exhibiting at the mall galleries!
