Costumed Portrait Study Day for Young Artists Aged 16–30

Join us at Raw Umber Studios in Stroud for a special costumed portrait drawing and painting session for young artists aged 16–30. Led by artist Lizet Dingemans, this relaxed studio day offers an introduction to the atelier-style approach we practise at Raw Umber.

Working from a live costumed portrait model, participants will spend the day carefully observing and studying the head and figure, focusing on likeness, character, and expression through drawing and painting. The session reflects the traditional atelier method learning through close observation and guidance from a practising tutor and artist. 

Lizet will lead the session with demonstrations, practical advice, and individual feedback, giving participants a taste of how portrait study works within the Raw Umber studio environment.

This is a great opportunity for any curious young artists to get an intro into atelier training, building a portfolio, or simply wanting a focused day of portrait painting and drawing with other young creatives.
