Nikoletta: An online figure drawing session

For this week’s 1-hour figure session, Lydia explores drawing the lights through a pose with model Nikoletta. The focus is on simplifying the figure and white clothing into clear shapes, using the toned paper as shadow while building highlights with white chalk and white charcoal. Sharp and soft edges are used to separate fabric from skin and strengthen the overall gesture and sense of light.
Materials used: grey cotton paper, white chalk or white charcoal pencil, kneaded eraser.
