On a windy day in Dundry, Somerset, we join Jem on farmland as he paints a wistful scene. Using sparing brushstrokes and subtle colour variations he shows how to suggest details of trees and swaying grasses.
In this episode, Jem demonstrates basic washes that we’ll be using in our paintings.
In final episode of the series, Lydia will explore edges and contours and start rendering the finished drawing.
