On a windy day in Dundry, Somerset, we join Jem on farmland as he paints a wistful scene. Using sparing brushstrokes and subtle colour variations he shows how to suggest details of trees and swaying grasses.
Our first painting was painted ‘wet on dry’ with ‘hard edges’. For the next scene, we’ll take a look at ‘soft edges’ for which we use ‘wet-in-wet’ technique. Jem shows us how!
