Dynamic Figure Drawing with Martin Campos

In this fast-paced in-person workshop,  students will be focusing on depicting the powerful felt quality of the human form.

What can I expect?
Using traditional methods and approaches, students will be "pulling away" and using speed, memory and constant motion to create figurative work that transcends the medium. We will be producing a large amount of work in a short period of time so be prepared for a fast-paced experience. A combination of short poses leading to longer sittings toward the end of the workshop will be explored.

All mediums are welcomed. The instructor will be focusing on charcoal and pastel. Feel free to follow suit!

Who is the tutor?
Figurative oil painter Martin Campos describes himself as a late bloomer. He began painting in in his late 20s before attending Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA), where he now teaches. In his teaching, he is dedicated to challenging his students, pushing their artistic boundaries with how one sees the human figure.

Martin believes that it's very important to paint something that truly scares you.
